It’s Not Just About The Vitamins…

My daughter is 5 years old. She is at that age where she asks about 18 questions a minute! The odd thing is that she already knows the answers to many of the questions that she asks but she still needs that constant reassurance that all is still the same as it was 5 minutes ago.

About a year back I was worried that she was showing signs of being overly interested in straight hair and with her own hair being kinky curly, you can understand why I was concerned. She seemed fascinated every time I installed long extensions in my hair and kept saying that she wished her hair was ‘like that’. Wanting to be a good mom I decided to stop wearing the extensions and show her through my actions that I actually loved my own hair more than any of these adornments that I wore.

As time went on I realized that I had completely misunderstood her. She is now able to communicate more effectively so I have come to realize that she actually does really love her curly hair. She is not at all concerned with hair texture in the least, she just wants long hair like Princess Elsa from Frozen, a common theme to most little girls today!

It occurred to me that it is probably that way for most of us grown-ups too. While we all have our preferences in hair texture, I would be willing to bet that most of us would probably be satisfied with our natural textures if only it was long, with ‘long’ meaning different things to different people of course.

You are here because you want long hair, that’s perfectly natural, long hair has been associated with a woman’s beauty since biblical times and with that, it is ingrained in most cultures today. Of course, long can be translated to mean ‘big’ or ‘thicker’ for those of us with kinky or curly natural hair but essentially most women want more hair now!

I’m not saying that there is anything wrong with wanting or loving short hair too but you have to admit that the great majority of women prefer their hair to be long!

More than simply popping pills every day I want you to find value from our posts too. It really isn’t all about the vitamins…. it’s about learning.

In many cases it’s not genes or good luck that leads to long healthy hair, it’s is simply knowledge and the willingness to take action and apply it to your hair regimen. I want everyone who reads this to have a true understanding of how hair growth and length retention is achieved, particularly for those of us with more challenging hair types like curly, kinky or chemically processed.

And that is why we provide so much free information about hair care over on I don’t want you to just accelerate your rate of hair growth by supplementing with our vitamins, I want you to gain the skills and knowledge about your own hair so that you will never be at a loss on what to do in any hair emergency.

I urge you to polish up on your knowledge of hair today, don’t think about it, just do it! An excellent place to start for those of you new to hair care is the beginners’ page on Black Hair Info which leads you to the best articles that will get you started on your healthy long hair growth journey.
