Many already know about the amazing benefits yoga has for the body. It has the potential to make you more flexible with a consistent practice, and it also helps to relieve stress and to calm your mind. But did you know certain poses also offer a great increase in hair growth?!
By incorporating these few simple inverted poses into your everyday yoga practice you can increase blood flow to the scalp and promote healthy hair growth.
So why is blood circulation important?
Blood carries all of the essential nutrients our bodies need to survive, and the flow of blood ensures that it is reaching all of our organs. The hair follicles in our scalp rely on this blood flow so that it can properly build protein resulting in our strands of hair.
So grab your yoga mat and take on these 4 inverted yoga poses today and see a noticeable difference in your hair growth.
1. Downward Dog
Place both your hands and feet on the ground and position your body in an upside down V. Lift your hips high and don’t worry if your heels don’t touch the ground.
2. Forward Fold
Place your feet together, bend at your hips, and let your head fall forward and down. You can either touch your toes or the ground or grab the back side of your calves.
3. Camel Pose
While sitting on your knees with the tops of your feet flat on the ground, reach back to grab the back of your ankles. Gently let your head fall backward and open your chest.
4. Fish Pose
Cross your legs and then gently lay back onto the floor. Place both hands on the back of your thighs, with your palms facing downward. Then lean back on your elbows, while pulling up your chest and dropping back your head, so that it rests on the ground.
